Jatta Records was founded by singer, songwriter and humanitarian, Taj Weekes, in an effort to further focus in on the intricacies of the craft, unimpeded by outside influence or control. What started as a creative impulse has continued to expand and gather form and finally to blossom into its current state as a small carefully run company that holds a high value on creating offerings of lasting greatness. As with all truly great works of art, no matter the media, Jatta Records embraces the idea that true art can only be created for the sake of its own creation and its intrinsic value always continues to multiply.
It is with this consciousness that Jatta presents to you vital, unique, organic indie music crafted by artists who take their time to perfect and extract a purity of sound that can only be achieved by plunging past the point where things sound "good."
